Who publishes this site

Call the Map is an independent, non-commercial publication. It forecasts the 2026 United States midterm elections. It is free to read, sells nothing, carries no advertising and has no subscriptions, and one person makes it.

This page is that person’s provider identification, together with the things a reader has a fair reason to want in writing: that no campaign pays for any of this, that nothing here is for sale, and that your personal information is not either. General enquiries go to hello@callthemap.com.

Corrections

If something published here is wrong — a number that cannot be right, a candidate who should not be on a ballot, a race that contradicts itself — please write to corrections@callthemap.com. Every report is read, and the ones that turn out to be real get fixed. Complaints about anything else published here go to the same address, or through the report link in the footer of every page.

Independent, and not connected to any campaign

This site is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by, or paid for by any candidate, campaign, political party, political action committee, or other political committee. No candidate, campaign, party or committee funds it, directs it, supplies its data, or sees anything before it is published.

Readers may voluntarily contribute towards running costs — hosting, map tiles and data feeds. Those contributions go to the site operator and are never solicited or collected for a candidate or a committee. A contribution buys no influence over a forecast, a rating, or editorial coverage.

The forecasts published here are informational estimates of how an election might go, produced by a model from public evidence. They are not voting advice, not a recommendation to vote for or against anyone, and not an endorsement of any candidate or party. Where this site shows another forecaster’s rating, a poll, or a market price, it shows it as that source’s view and not as its own.

Personal information, in one paragraph

Reading this site needs no account, no login and no email address, and none is offered. Your personal information is not sold to anyone, and it is not shared for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is no advertising on this site, no ad network, no ad tracker and no advertising identifier.

Visits are counted anonymously: Vercel receives page views on this site’s behalf, without cookies and with the query string and the fragment removed from the address. You can object at any time on the privacy page, and a browser that sends Global Privacy Control is never counted. The full, measured detail — what is stored in your browser, what leaves it, and to whom — is on the privacy page.

About this page

This is the operator’s own account of who runs Call the Map and how it is run, published because a reader deciding whether to trust a forecast is entitled to know who is behind it. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for legal advice.

What the forecasts are, and are not

Estimates
Forecasts are probabilistic estimates and opinions — an estimate of how an election might go, produced by a model from public evidence. Not a guarantee, not certainty, not a result. A candidate given a 90% chance loses one time in ten, and that is the model working.
Markets
Prediction-market prices are comparison evidence, not investment advice. Nothing here is gambling, betting or investment advice, or a recommendation to place a wager or trade. Call the Map takes no position in any market it quotes.
Modeled values
Estimated values are estimates. Figures described as estimated, projected, modeled or expected — vote shares, seat counts, turnout, margins — are model output, not counted or certified numbers. Official results come from election authorities, and this site is not one.
Third parties
Ratings, quotes and posts from other forecasters, outlets and accounts are reproduced as theirs. Their presence is not an endorsement of them, nor theirs of this site.
Corrections
When a published number is wrong the correction is recorded rather than quietly replaced. See corrections and contact.
